Apart from "Institution Training" at GSIHM College Campus at Kalimpong student are required to undergo compulsory "Industrial Exposure Training" for a period of 6 months : Winter Training from "October to March" or Summer Training from "April to September". at various Top 5 Star Hotels allocated to them, in India and abroad* (condition apy).Training Placements are based on Academic Capabilities and student’s Overall Performance at College. GOOD SHEPHERD’S Placement Cell makes all the necessary arrangements for I.E.T, in advance. Students need to appear for selection Interview for the same.

During the I.E.T. students are rotated in various major operational areas of the hotel, according to the schedule prepared by the hotel. I.E.T. helps the students to bridge the gap between Institutional Training and the Practical Work Experience in Real Life Situations. The I.E.T. is closely monitored by the College. Upon successful completion of the training, students are required to submit as detailed “Project Report” and make an Audio Visual Presentation to the Entire Faculty. Based on their performance, and Project Report the Training carries marks.
